SIL drew Gentium for linguists: people setting languages whose diacritics stack two and three deep, who need the marks to be correct rather than merely present. The Book cut is the heavier of the two, made so the face still has colour on paper, and it reads as a written old-style: the stress runs diagonally, the head serifs on the lowercase are angled, and the whole thing looks drawn with a pen rather than constructed. Its Greek covers polytonic, which most Latin-first families do not attempt at all.
