Shadows Into Light
A light, quick hand with almost no pressure variation, of the kind that comes out of a fine felt tip held loosely. It has real lowercase, unlike the two marker faces beside it, and an x-height nearly as tall as its capitals, which is why it stays readable at sizes where most handwriting faces stop being words. The irregularity is genuine rather than applied: no two round letters share the same curve. It is the quietest handwriting in the archive, which is most of what it is for.

- Yes. Shadows Into Light is released under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, which allows commercial use with no fee and no attribution requirement. You can use it in client work, in products you sell, on the web and in print. The one thing you may not do is sell the font file on its own. The licence is inside the download.
- Can I use Shadows Into Light in a logo?
- Yes. The licence covers the font software, not the artwork you make with it, so a logo set in Shadows Into Light belongs to you — including if you later register it as a trademark.
