IM Fell English
Igino Marini digitised the types Bishop John Fell bought for Oxford University Press in the 1670s, and he did not clean them up. The letters are uneven, the baseline is not quite true and the impression varies from glyph to glyph, because that is what the surviving printed pages actually look like. It is a face for when the roughness is the point; set beside a modern serif it will look broken, which is the correct reaction.

- Yes. IM Fell English is released under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, which allows commercial use with no fee and no attribution requirement. You can use it in client work, in products you sell, on the web and in print. The one thing you may not do is sell the font file on its own. The licence is inside the download.
- Can I use IM Fell English in a logo?
- Yes. The licence covers the font software, not the artwork you make with it, so a logo set in IM Fell English belongs to you — including if you later register it as a trademark.
