Rockwell is sold by Monotype and comes bundled with some Microsoft and Apple software, which is why it feels familiar. A bundled copy is for documents on that machine: it does not come with the right to serve the font on a website, ship it inside an app or send it to a printer with the artwork.
What a Rockwell substitute has to get right
Slabs the same weight as the stems and cut square with no bracket, on a geometric skeleton with a near-circular o. A bracketed slab reads as a Clarendon, which is a different nineteenth-century idea.
